Innovation is a key need for every business, the challenge is how can you support it within your organization. Change and execution risk vary based on the type of “command and control” structure and execution model which is in place when it comes to product and market innovation. Maybe that’s not the right phrase it/way to look at it, but if your organization isn’t nimble enough to support innovation that will definitely be a barrier to success in tough economic markets. The presentation below provides an overview of the Agile Virtual Enterprise (AVE). I think I like the acronym better than the buzzwords.

Slide week continues with a lecture

You can’t say i didn’t warn you earlier in the week that this was slide week. I had way too much time while on holiday and just consumed so much content that I had to share. The other thing I was also doing a bunch of research on some stuff. The Lecture 7 presentation below on Branding is an interesting academic set of slides, which I hope are helpful.

Automotive ad and media spending

I actually got caught in a conversation today around a couple of my posts around the Automotive industry and their ad spend.   The main discussion was around the reporting quality and intellectual honesty of Fox News, but I did get banged on around the spending habits and likely contractual spend already in place for GM and Chrysler.  Below is a chart from Ad Age‘s global marketing report on the Top 100 media buyers, the ad spending by category is based on 2007 spend.
