Midnight Oil: Beds are Burning

So I’m always running into songs I haven’t heard in a while on my [tag]iPod[/tag]. A recent gem which rotated into my [tag]playlist[/tag] was from the Australian band [tag]Midnight Oil[/tag], with bald guy who was a lawyer or perhaps a solicitor is the more precise word. (At least that’s a piece of trivia I think I remember) So I went to search on [tag]YouTube[/tag] to get you the video of [tag]Beds are Burning[/tag]. So here is your music flashback:

The Promtion Pit: A Careerbuilder Commercial or a day in the office?

I am constantly reminded of the competition we call work and today made me think the Promotion Pit [tag]super bowl ad[/tag]. The [tag]careerbuilder[/tag] ad on [tag]promotion pit[/tag] is a fairly entertaining metaphor for the workplace. I was able to random into it on [tag]YouTube[/tag], [tag]Tivo[/tag] really makes a person miss out on 30 seconds of opportunities which we fast forward through without shame.

So at the end of the day, what is the [tag]opportunity cost[/tag] of Tivo from a enjoyment perspective? I think the benefits outweigh the lost opportunities, but I am wearing my protective 3 ring binder for safety just in case. I think there may be an [tag]OSHA[/tag] regulation on it.

A personal history of the internet…

So I did another lackluster [tag]powerpoint[/tag] presentation, but I’m cool with it since most business presentations aren’t home runs. The [tag]universal search[/tag] and walk down memory lane made me do it, it certainly wasn’t because it was a great idea, instead I see it as a solid single with an option to take 2nd if I’m really fast.

So I put together this piece on the [tag]history of the internet[/tag].
